Everytime I think I’ll be stuck at Border’s for the next year, I get surprised with another interview request. Yesterday I got a call from Reeds Brook Middle School in Hampden, Maine to come in on Aug. 9 for an interview. Cha-ching! As you may know, Hampden is within the 30 minute radius that would allow me to live with Allan this fall! We’re hoping beyond hope that I get this position because it would make life unbelievably easier.
We spent the day in Bangor/Orono, visiting friends and getting life stuff done, namely looking for apartments for Allan (and maybe us). We finished the evening off by having dinner at The Whig and then book browsing at Border’s. We came home with three books: The Iron Council, China Mieville; The Complete Stories, Franz Kafka; and the haikus of Matsuo Basho. All in all, it was a good day.
